Onward, continue to read and study one chapter of the bible every day. prayerfully read the whole 5th Chapter of the book of SONGS OF SONGS.
📖 SONGS OF SONGS 5
[2] I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My beloved is knocking: “Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”
[3] I have taken off my robe— must I put it on again? I have washed my feet— must I soil them again?
[6] I opened for my beloved, but my beloved had left; he was gone. My heart sank at his departure. I looked for him but did not find him. I called him but he did not answer.
[9] How is your beloved better than others, most beautiful of women? How is your beloved better than others, that you so charge us?
[10] My beloved is radiant and ruddy, outstanding among ten thousand.
[16] His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, this is my friend, daughters of Jerusalem.
Beloved, may the peace of God be unto you. The previous chapter ends with the bride calling for the groom (Song of Songs 4:16), this one starts with the groom coming joyfully (Song of songs 5:1), when he knocked the bride was reluctant to open and delayed (5:2,3), she went to open too late when he had left(5:6). This is a warning to every pilgrim.
1️⃣OPEN FOR HIM
📍 If you will listen to the voice that now speaks to you, if you will respond without delay to the knocking at the door of your heart, “Come in, Lord Jesus, that I may sup with Thee, and Thee with me,” the heavenly Guest will enter. When this element, which is all divine, abides with you, there is peace and rest. (Letter 124, 1897. – AH 350.3)
📖 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelations 3:20)
➡️Today Jesus knocks and says open the door. Though you do not dislike Him but think you will open later as if He will keep knocking! Time will come and the groom will arrive, those without enough oil in their lamps(the Holy Spirit), those who will not be ready will come but will be told ”Depart from me, I never knew you” (Mathew 7:23)
⏯️Brethren, stop exalting the beauty of your Beloved, before opening the door to all rooms of your heart for Him. Lest the probation ends with no improvement. May He enable us.
2️⃣PROVE THAT YOUR BELOVED IS BETTER THAN OTHERS
📖 How is your beloved better than others, most beautiful of women? How is your beloved better than others, that you so charge us?(Songs of songs 5:9)
➡️If that question was addressed to you would you find an answer? Do you believe that He is holy? Is He better than a thousand men to you?
👉Let us always be ready to answer about what we believe, not only in words, but also in our conduct, actions and character that witness our belief.
