? 1 CORINTHIANS 3
[1] And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
[2] I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;
[7] So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
[8] Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
[16] Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
[17] If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
[18] Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
[19] For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”;
Beloved of God, peace be unto you.
Let us learn from Corinthians. They were given spiritual milk that was enough to make them grow, but they continued to be dwarves. They are still into envy and divisions, the flesh has been enthroned. Aren’t you concerned?
Was what we have been fed with not enough for us to grow?
1️⃣BEING CARNAL
? These believers because they had not received the truth given to them in faith what followed was forgetfulness. Because of misunderstanding, they were not able to understand the power of Christ that makes a Christian’s life glorify God.
✴He said I fed you with milk or easy teachings fit for new believers, and they did not serve anything which means they did not take time to learn the word they heard, and ask Christ for strength to put it into practice.
➡Even today it happens that some spend time in church, and continue to be the same as they were while they joined. It is time to learn from Corinthians. Now that people leave what they have learnt in place, and it doesn’t have any impact on their life.
2️⃣TEACHERS AND PREACHERS ARE HUMANS NOT GOD
?We are warned here, no teacher or preacher is greater than others among those God sends to us bringing his word as it is written. God sends them different in power and gifts.
➡Let us be careful not to fall into the trap of favoring some preachers more than others. Paul warns us and says stop. Today in some places you find tools(teachers) valued more than the Owner and some call themselves special names(this is idolatry).
3️⃣LET OUR WHOLE BEING BE CONTROLLED BY GOD
?What does God need from us?
1 Thessalonians 5:23 says : May the God who gives peace make you holy in every way. May he keep your whole being—spirit, soul, and body…
God needs our whole being.
✴☆We belong to God by creation we are his by redemption. Let the mind, spirit, body and soul all serve Him.
☆ A person who has been enlighten by God and has been sanctified: His body is a fit temple for the Holy Spirit. Holiness adorns his character. God can commune with him, for soul and body are in harmony with God. (Letter 139, 1898).
⚠ Dear brethren, these warnings concern us a lot. We need power from Christ so we can grow and not face growth delay. Knowing that you have first build on Christ the Rock, is the secret. Surrender all, do not give yourself in part.
?GOD TODAY WE ONCE AGAIN SURRENDER TO YOU OUR BEING, AND OUR EVERYTHING. BE THE RULER
