? HEBREWS 10
[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
[5] Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
[10] By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
[15] But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
[16] “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”
[24] And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
[25] not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
[26] For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
[27] but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
[37] “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.
[38] Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”
[39] But we are not of those who draw back to ]perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
Beloved of God, happy day. What the ceremonial law symbolized has been finally found. What the world needed and need to know is the only way through which salvation can be found.
He who said I am the way, the truth and the life, No one comes to the Father except through me, believe in Him and you will be saved. May the Spirit reveal again to us more about salvation.
1️⃣SACRIFICES CANNOT REMOVE SIN, BUT JESUS’ IS SUFFICIENT
?God’s chosen people have been blessed with two kinds of law: the 10 which are the character of God (moral law), and ceremonial law.
☆The first type always that reminds us that God is the Creator, will last forever because that is God’s immutable character.
☆While the ceremonial law was given because they were unable to obey the 10; and it contains sacrifices that represented the awaited salvation.
✍?Paul wants them to know that when Christ came on earth, and died as a sacrifice for our sins, the type met the antitype, the ceremonial law though holy and given by God had accomplished its purpose.
➡The wage of sin (transgression of the law) is death. Death is a punishment that fell on Jesus, and brought peace to whoever believes in Him.
2️⃣COMING TO GOD THROUGH JESUS, FAITH, LOVE
?To be able to enter the most holy place with Christ (verse 19); requires putting off our own made righteousness, daily humble ourselves before Him, confess to Him our sins, and ask forgiveness for our sins, and accept to partner with Christ in the work of restoring in us the image of God that was damaged. Love for one another and good works, come as results or fruits of what Christ has transformed us into.
⚠️Otherwise, you will be weighed and be found wanting.
3️⃣WARNING AGAINST DEPRAVITY
?When someone decides not to accept Christ as his/her only Savior, and refuses to obey the Holy Spirit, who alone sanctifies us, despises and opposes the only gospel that shows us the way of salvation; there is no more sacrifice for sin, except to wait for judgement in fear. However it is possible to change the decision and the direction changes immediately.
4️⃣BELIEVERS’ TRIBULATIONS, ENCOURAGEMENT TO STAND FIRM IN FAITH
?The joy of the saints will be abundant and everlasting when Jesus returns, whatever you may lose and however you may be persecuted on this earth, there will be enough time to be comforted.
Verse 37 says “For yet a little while, And HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME AND WILL NOT TARRY.
Living by faith, dying in faith is the complete safety for our souls.
⚠Dear Brethren, in the book of Hebrews we continue to see that nothing else can fully cleanse us, except the blood of the Savior and that believing in Him is what can give us salvation. We end by seeing that no matter how much suffering those who have assurance in Christ may face, it cannot be compared to the full everlasting joy.
?GOD, HELP US TO BE CLOTHED IN THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST. Amen
