📖 1 TIMOTHY 3
[2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;
[3] not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
[4] one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence.
[6] not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
[8] Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money,
[9] holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.
[11] Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
Beloved of God, happy day. We are in a chapter that tells us what characterizes God’s church leaders. If you are one and do not fulfill those characteristics, ask God for personal revival, regardless of what is done by others. We have also seen that God’s mystery is beyond our thoughts.
1️⃣ A BISHOP, A DEACON AND A DEACONESS
🔅A bishop must be blameless, not given to wine, not greedy,… lest that impacts the ministry. And his family must be a role model.
🔰 One well-ordered, well-disciplined family is a greater power in demonstrating the efficiency of Christianity than all the sermons in the world. (Manuscript 31, 1901)
👉🏾They must also avoid pride and being haughty because that is the sin that made angels become demons.
➡️Every Christian has been assigned the responsibility by Christ (Matthew 28:19,20) to preach the gospel. Those things were therefore written for you even if you have not been elected by the church, the church’s Owner has chosen you.
2️⃣GOD’S MYSTERY IS GREAT
✳Timothy, the Greek, who had been given the responsibility at young age had been taught the word of God by his mother and his grand mother who were Jews ( Eunice and Lois). That was a reward for their work , to see the one they taught working with the great apostle.
✍🏽Let us linger on verse 16 for many Christian dominations are there because of misunderstanding it. 🔰God’s infinity is so much higher than we are, that it is impossible for man to comprehend the mystery of godliness.(Isaiah 55:8,9) and (7BC 919.3)
🔆Angels of God looked with amazement upon Christ, who took upon Himself the form of man and humbly united His divinity with humanity in order that He might minister to fallen man.(7BC 919.4).
➡️Failing to understand that in our limited minds doesn’t make it false.
🔆Human minds without the special assistance of the Spirit of God will see many things in the Bible very difficult to be understood, because they lack a divine enlightenment. It is not that men should come to the Word of God by setting up their own way, or their own will or their own ideas, but it is to come with a meek and humble and holy spirit. (7BC 919.7)
🔆 Do not search the word of God if you are not ready to listen and learn, Now, there are some that may think that they are fully capable, with their finite judgment, to take the Word of God and to state what are the words of inspiration and what are not the words of inspiration. I want to warn you off that ground, my brethren in the ministry. “Put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” [Exodus 3:5.] There is no finite man that lives, I care not who he is or whatever is his position, that God has authorized to pick and choose in His Word. (Manuscript 13,1888).
➡️Dear Brother and Sister, ask God to assign you a responsibility and accept to be sanctified. Let us know that in the beginning was the Word, and that He was God, and He is the one who created all things( God the Creator). Let failing to understand how He can become a man and God continues to be one, or failing to understand a certain truth in the Bible not shake your faith. The Holy Spirit will reveal to you enough for your salvation.
