π EPHESIANS 4
[1] I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
[3] endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
[4] There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
[5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
[6] one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in [c]you all.
[30] And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
[31] Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, [i]clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
[32] And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Beloved of God, happy day be unto you. Unity is strength but division is weakness. In unity, we overcome but in division we loose.
1οΈβ£ CHRISTIAN UNITY
β΄οΈ Verses 4-6 Paul shows the reason why believers must have unity because there is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God. These things that bind us together are the source of unity of believers and in their unity are founded strength, victory and bravery. Paul says:βnor give place to the devil (Verse 27). Is important we should avoid giving Satan a gap through which he can pass to destroy the unity of faith. Satan destroys unity let us block his way.
π° “Unity is the strength of the church. Satan knows this, and he employs his whole force to bring in dissension. He desires to see a lack of harmony among the members of the church of God. Greater attention should be given to the subject of unity. What is the recipe for the cure of the leprosy of strife and dissension? Obedience to the commandments of God.β SM 2 158-159
2οΈβ£ GRIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT
π [30] “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
β‘οΈ After urging Christians to have unity and to grow to the stature of the fullness of Christ, Paul reminded believers that there are habits they must give up for good because they had been converted(putting away lying, stealing, anger and evil speaking ,β¦).
Paul took the opportunity to ask them not to grieve the Holy Spirit(verse30),
A truly converted person must always do the will of God and live a life of obedience. He who was once led by the flesh is required to be led by the Holy Spirit and live a life of obedience.
Disobedience to God grieves the Holy Spirit. May the Lord save us from grieving the Holy Spirit lest He goes way as it was the case in the time of Noah.
(Genesis 6:3).
πGOD SAVE US FROM GRIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT. π
