? 2 CORINTHIANS 9
[6] But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
[7] So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
[8] And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
[9] As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”
[11] while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.
[12] For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,
[13] while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,
Beloved of God, happy day. Paul continues to commend the generosity of the Macedonians. We are given so we can give and as we give our capacity to receive increases.
1️⃣ YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW
? [6] But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
? “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty.” Proverbs 11:24.
? “The Lord says, “Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters.” Isaiah 32:20. To sow beside all waters means to give wherever our help is needed. This will not tend to poverty. “He which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” By casting it away the sower multiplies his seed. So by imparting we increase our blessings. God’s promise assures a sufficiency, that we may continue to give.” Education 82
➡️Giving does not make one poor but increases your capacity of receiving. What man sows he shall reap.
2️⃣ GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER
?” God has made men His stewards. The property which He has placed in their hands is the means that He has provided for the spread of the gospel. To those who prove themselves faithful stewards He will commit greater trusts. Saith the Lord, “Them that honour Me I will honour.”1 Samuel 2:30. “God loveth a cheerful giver,” and when His people, with grateful hearts, bring their gifts and offerings to Him,“ not grudgingly ,or of necessity,” His blessing will attend them, as He has promised.” PP 480
➡️What you give grudgingly brings a curse instead of a blessing. God loves those who give willingly and cheerfully not out of necessity. He who gives that way will be blessed and always have things to give.
⚠️Dear Beloved, this doesn’t mean to give everything but within your means. It is just a reminder that
an egocentric heart comes from Satan and our sinful nature, but the heart of generosity is from God. Which one do you have between the two? If you receive Jesus, He will make you a cheerful giver. Giving will not make you short of things to give, but will make you always have what to give.
? GOD, ON THIS DAY YOU BLESSED AND SANCTIFIED, EXCHANGE OUR EGOCENTRIC HEART WITH A HEART THAT GIVES GENEROUSLY AND JOYFULLY.??
